SAY GOODBYE TO DRY LEGS & ANKLES

Dry Legs Framed

While many vegetable oils & essential oils relieve dry skin I have discovered lasting results using Wheatgerm oil.  I get a lot of people asking for a recipe to reduce dry flaky skin particularly on the lower legs and ankles both in summer and winter. 

Wheatgerm oil is particularly high in Vitamin E which makes it exceptionally moisturising.  Together with high levels of Palmitic, Oleic and Linoleic acid to nourish and feed the skin.  Wheatgerm oil has a strong odour and is dark in colour so not ideal for a morning treatment or before wearing white garments.  But the results are terrific. 

I use 1 of the following essential oils or choose your own favourite

  • Benzoin
  • Roman Camomile
  • Frankincense
  • Rose Otto or
  • Sandalwood
  • Plus a splash of Calendula oil for added efficacy
  • 5 drops of essential oil in 1 tbspoon of Wheatgerm oil and apply

You could also use this blend as a nourishing bath oil, run the tub, apply the oil all over and soak. Pat dry, avoid white towels!  

Many shower and hair products can leave a residue particularly on the lower legs and ankles so be sure to rinse thoroughly before getting out of the shower.  And choose fresh Wheatgerm oil.
